The city of Pattaya  is a municipal self-government, which covers the whole tambon Nong Prue and Na Klue and parts of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai. The city is located in the large industrial area of the East Coast, along with Si Racha, Laem Chabang and Chonburi. It has a population of over 100,000 (2007). Pattaya is also the center of the metropolitan area of Pattaya, Chonburi, Chonburi conurbation with a population of over 1,000,000 (2010).
