The Kingdom of Thailand is a sovereign country located in Southeast Asia. Thailand limits the north with Laos and Burma to the east by Laos and Cambodia, south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and west by the Andaman Sea and Burma. The capital and largest city of Thailand is Bangkok. It is also the country’s center of political, commercial, industrial and cultural. Bangkok is known in Thai as "Krung Thep Mahanakorn" or, more colloquially, "Krung Thep".
Thailand is considered the world’s 50th largest country in terms of total area, with an area of approximately 513,000 km ² (198,000 square kilometers), and the twentieth largest country in the world in terms of population, with about 63 million people. The population comprises 80% of Thai, Chinese 10% and 3% of Malaysians. The rest are minorities such as Mons, Khmers, and various hill tribes. Country’s official spoken and written language is Thai. |

Thailand has hundreds of islands in the Gulf of Siam and the Andaman Sea. All the islands of Some of the groups of islands of Thailand come in groups of several individual islands, Phang Nga Bay is 67, the Mu Ko Chang National Park has 52, Tarutao Marine National Park is 51, and Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park has 42. Thailand are the offshore islands. The central area of the Gulf of Siam is free of the islands, so that Thailand has no islands in the sea off the coast. Previously most of the Thai islands were uninhabited, but in recent times has developed many such resorts.
